EOWA Employer of Choice for Women citation for Norton Rose Australia
10 March 2011
Norton Rose Australia has been awarded the EOWA Employer of Choice for Women citation in recognition of its commitment to recognising and advancing its female workforce.
Norton Rose Group Deputy Chief Executive, Don Boyd said: “This is a great honour which reflects the significant advancements we have made to attract and retain the best female employees. This is something we do for no other reason than it makes good business sense”
EOWA recognition as an Employer of Choice for Women acknowledges organisations with best practice gender diversity programs. It is awarded to organisations that meet rigorous criteria across seven different aspects of employment including maternity leave, sex-based harassment training, workplace flexibility and gender-based pay analysis.
“Retention and advancement of women to senior positions has been the cornerstone of our diversity strategy at Norton Rose Australia. We remain committed to further improvement to ensure we retain and develop the best people to lead the practice,” Mr Boyd said.
Norton Rose Australia more than doubled the percentage of women in Partnership in just five years, with representation of nine percent in 2005, increasing to 21 percent in 2010. The ‘pipeline to partnership,’ the role of Senior Associate, has 61 percent female representation. “83 percent of our appointments to Senior Associate last year were women,” Mr Boyd noted.
