Says Andrew Robinson, maritime legal specialist at attorneys Deneys Reitz and chairman of SA’s Maritime Law Association (MLA): “There is a longstanding, although ill-advised tradition amongst exporters to negotiate sales on completely inappropriate Incoterms.”
